Cape Riviera Guesthouse

The rooms are great, there are a couple of pools, and the staff are really friendly. But be careful about which room you’re given. Rooms numbered 7 and up are at the back, where dogs bark constantly from 06:00 until well after midnight. We stayed six nights. The first few were in a peaceful room at the front, then we had to move to the back and I barely slept. I’d suggest the owners try spending a few nights in those rooms to understand how bad the noise is.

Coming back to Cape Riviera after our first visit in 2015 was a very good decision. Room 1 was spacious, with good bedding and a good bathroom, and both breakfast and the honesty bar were good. The service really stood out. I use a medical device while sleeping, and loadshedding can cause problems for it. Without me even asking, Owen, the owner, called his electrical installation contractor to change the battery system so my device would keep working overnight. You don’t come across that kind of care every day.

Owen is simply a great host, and the house is so distinctive, almost like a mini-castle. Breakfast was fabulous, from the scrambled eggs and bacon to the granola, yogurt, and fruit. Highly recommended!

Such a lovely place for a Cape Town visit. The rooms were very nice, and the staff were lovely and provided great service. I loved this beautiful guesthouse and would highly recommend it.
