I wouldn’t book here. I paid in full for a group of four for four nights, but when my guests arrived, they insisted on moving after seeing how filthy the place was in the photos they sent me. The poor condition is also clear from the Tripadvisor reviews. There was no professionalism from reception through to the manager. After about three months of back and forth, the manager agreed to refund 50%, but nothing has come through. He hasn’t returned my emails or calls either. Don’t be fooled by the website. My fiancé and I regretted choosing this place for our honeymoon. There’s a lot that needs upgrading and improvement. The carpet in our room was old and filthy, the TV was ancient with few channels and a blurry picture, and the bathrooms were old-fashioned. Breakfast was the same every day throughout the week.

It’s a very informal guesthouse, with little professionalism and cleanliness that doesn’t seem to be a priority. Our room was spacious but dated, WiFi only worked in the lounge, and breakfast was mediocre.

My wife and I stayed here at capetown palms twice and really enjoyed both visits. Brian is a great host who makes you feel right at home. The place is clean and spacious, and close to all the main attractions.

We booked for the night at 23:00 on 27 August 2018, and the place confirmed it. When we arrived, the doors were shut and nobody came to help us. The next day, we contacted the owner. He said he was in hospital, apologized and told us they would refund our money. By Wednesday, he was saying we had to go through the agency we booked with and that he wouldn’t pay a cent. He was rude and unhelpful. I’ve never been treated like this when booking before.
