Chapmans Peak Hotel

Going outside the usual lunch and dinner hours seems the way to get the best experience here. Our late lunch came with superb views, lovely company, and a chilled bottle of wine, the sort of afternoon you’ll remember for a long time. My wife’s grilled Kingklip and my Espetada were both done perfectly, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Thanks to the attentive staff, especially Zukhona. Prices are in line with Cape Town. Highly recommended.

My parents went to the restaurant on the 14th of feb, and my dad’s main was terrible. He ordered calamari and steak but got only 7 pieces of calamari and a piece of steak that looked about 100 grams. For a man, that’s not worth it, especially at that price. He also ordered a glass of wine, wasn’t given a full glass, and was charged 150. What restaurant charges that? It’s outrageous to treat locals trying to support local business like this, screwing them over 10 fold.

The Summer Platter was very good, and the seared Tuna was delicious. We’d heard the Calamari at the Chapman's Peak Hotel was the best in the world, and it lived up to the talk. The Calamari and Portuguese Steak Pan were out of this world, the best steak I’ve ever had. We’ll remember this meal and will definitely come back.

The portions felt a bit small for the price, particularly the sides. Even just making the small side serving a little bigger would help. The grilled calamari (“baby squid”), espetada, and chips were all very tasty.
