Dunkley House

The room was lovely, clean and spacious, with a little deck and tiny splash pool that should be great on a hot summer evening. It's in a lovely part of Cape Town, with lots of nice places in walking distance. There's no on-site parking, though there's a small area with a few bays at the end of the road. Don't leave valuables in your car outside, or you're inviting a break-in. The place has the makings of something great, but it feels a bit forgotten and could use some guidance and small touches to bring it back to its former glory.

Room 10 is worth the wait. The setting feels stunning once you're inside the yard walls, and with friendly service and a good breakfast, it's a lovely place for a day or two away. Bring your loved one, you won't regret it.

Our room was very spacious and clean, and we could always find a free street parking spot. It's a good base in central capetown, about 10 minutes by car from the table mountain cable car. The downside was being right next to the breakfast room: once other guests started eating, it got noisy. Breakfast was fine, with a very small buffet but eggs or pancakes available à la carte. Service was okay.

We had such a good six days at #Dunkley guest house, and KC, Makhazi and all the staff made us feel welcome and at home. It was our first visit to the mother city, and the location was fantastic. We walked to Bo-kaal and long street, and took “Uber” to some other places. Breakfast was nice, though we'd love a bit more meat next time. Great service, and we're definitely coming back. We'd recommend this guest house to anyone.
