Gardens Centre Holiday Apartments

The nearby shopping center had everything I needed, from groceries and a bank to clothing stores, and I could walk to most places, including the nightlife on Kloof Street. I studied abroad in Cape Town for six weeks, and my school arranged this accommodation. There were problems with the laundry service. Clothes often came back late, and some classmates had items go missing. Near the end of my stay, the cleaning staff accidentally threw away my retainers, which cost $600 USD. I asked the front desk if they could help cover even part of the cost, but they declined. I also asked them to open an investigation and was told, “we don’t want to open an investigation.” After I returned to the U.S., I had to spend another $400 on dental treatment. It was very frustrating.

The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We asked to switch to a mountain view room, and they were happy to arrange it. The cleaning staff were considerate too, always asking what time would suit us for room cleaning. I’d stay here again. The only downside was the lack of DSTV. With DSTV, it would have been five stars.

I haven’t been inside yet, but I’d like to book a room when I get there. I’ve heard so many good things about how nice the rooms are.

The location is great and the service was wonderful, though the bathroom and kitchen need updating.
