Goblins Mead Guest House

It feels more like a home than a house, with a vintage, artsy style, and it was super clean. The food was amazing, with a full dinner and breakfast. The place was quiet and relaxing, and I had some good conversations with the nice staff. The host replied quickly and helped with everything I needed, from ironing to finding packets for my wet things. There’s Wi-Fi and a smart TV too. I’ll definitely be back.

The rooms, service, and location were perfect, and David and Adelaide made us feel very welcome. The accommodation itself was excellent, but we won’t be returning because of the issues around the guesthouse. For several days, a baby on the premises cried continuously. Two other couples we know who stayed here had similar concerns, and management seemed unable to resolve it. We were confused because the guesthouse rules in the blackbook say children under 14 aren’t allowed. We also had concerns about the legal status of the couple hosting the baby. On top of that, a male foreign guest often talked loudly on his phone near the pool, and we heard him and his wife, the cleaning lady, arguing loudly. It disturbed us while we were relaxing in the rooms and affected our stay.

Those morning check-ins from Aunty Brett were especially thoughtful, and her warm hospitality made me feel part of the family. The genuine care and attention to detail made it feel like guests were treated as family, not just visitors. I had an exceptional experience at Goblins Mead. The service was excellent, and everything was clean and neat. The bathrooms were lovely, the rooms comfortable, and the food exquisite. It’s a very safe area, and there’s Wi-Fi.
