The executive suite was a lovely duplex, with huge windows, a massive comfortable bed, a kitchen, seating area, and nice artwork. The coffee machine, fridge, dishwasher, TV with dstv, and cheap secure parking were all good to have. My wife and I spent four nights here, and we felt safe walking around both during the day and evening. The Kloof St location is excellent, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The breakfast setup at a local cafe is a good idea, though there are only two choices rather than the four shown on the website. Egghead was our favorite. Service was mixed: most people were lovely and helpful, but a few seemed too busy to serve guests. The key card failed twice, and the safe kept showing low battery even after it was changed. The shower felt like one from a council leisure center changing room and really needs an upgrade to match the hotel’s ambitions. The open plan bathroom is fine, but replacing the bath with a large shower area, frosted glass surrounds, and a rainwater shower head would make it feel finished. The view is only of Lions Head if you lean out and look left, though other rooms may have a better one. Temper your expectations and you’ll have a great time.

We’d booked standard rooms, then got a lovely surprise when they upgraded us to deluxe. Service was great, and we received breakfast vouchers to use at a good choice of nearby restaurants.

The breakfast coupon can be used at nearby restaurants, and the location is handy for exploring the Mother City. It’s a 10 minute walk to the hop-on-hop-off bus stop, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes nearby. The staff were wonderful and the hospitality was great. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well equipped, with big TVs and a cozy feel that works for short or long stays. The executive apartment is especially good, with two floors and an open bath. There are utensils, a microwave, and a bar fridge too. Such a wonderful property, highly recommend staying here!
