The QR code resets before checkout, which leaves you wondering how you’re meant to get around the building. We were also charged for soaps and amenities described as “complimentary.” Getting into the apartment was a problem for four days. The facial recognition system failed whenever I needed it, despite being told on the first day that it would be sorted out. I had to argue with security to get inside. Staff and security seemed to work around their own convenience, with no urgency or accountability when we needed help. It feels like basic systems here are poorly managed, and guests are left to deal with the fallout. If you’re visiting Cape Town and want peace of mind, stay far away.
