Icon Luxury Apartments

It’s clean and very spacious, with 24-hour security and helpful people. The Convention centre and VA Waterfront are both an easy walk away. I’d happily stay here again.

We had a horrible stay, and I wouldn’t recommend these as luxury apartments at all. The front door locks were broken and I felt unsafe. The shower had mould, the patio door was stuck shut, and there were no bathmats or bedside lamps. The sheets in both rooms had filthy brown marks all over them. I could keep listing things.

The bed was genuinely comfortable, and the apartment has a modern look, but staying here meant dealing with one maintenance problem after another. I booked a discounted deal through Agoda, and at that price the comfort and cleanliness made it bearable. At the usual “Luxury” rate, this would be a failure. It feels as if Icon is relying on an old reputation while neglecting the basics. The room had several clear upkeep issues: the microwave door had a melted hole in it, the kitchen tap had a hole in its neck and sprayed water, and the bathroom basin plug had a hole and couldn’t be used. The fridge was badly dented and unstable. The washing machine was missing parts of its softener tray. The kitchen inventory felt like leftovers. There were three can openers and no spatula, cutlery from mismatched sets, and just one bowl in a unit meant for multiple guests. The dishcloth looked like it had been around since the early 90s. It all suggests nobody checks the apartment before guests arrive. Service was patchy too. I was there six nights, and though the policy says service every three days, I only got one refresh with towels and toilet paper until the last day, when there was finally a proper clean. DSTV, which was promised, didn’t work for the whole stay. I told reception, but nothing was fixed. Until the maintenance and inventory problems are addressed, it’s hard to recommend.

We stayed in room 1700A from 27 March 2026 to the 28th. The room was very clean, and we were really pleased with the service. The staff were friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely come back.
