Ikhaya

The owner and the people looking after the property were very nice, and the place itself is pleasant and clean. But after the stay, I got an email from Expedia saying they couldn’t get the property manager’s approval to waive the fee related to my double billing, so they wouldn’t refund me. I had paid at the property after being told they didn’t work with expedia.com, even though I’d booked through them. I sent proof of that second payment twice, but Expedia kept saying they were contacting Ikhaya about the refund. I’m now not sure which of them is scamming me, though I suspect Expedia. I’ve attached proof of the second payment. I stayed one night on December 31st, 2024, and it was $43, so I’m glad the loss wouldn’t be much, but imagine if it were a week. Be very careful booking places like this, because you could lose your money. I gave it 3 stars because although it was nice and clean, my room had no fan, AC or TV. I was lucky it wasn’t hot that day. It might be fine if you only need somewhere to sleep, but I couldn’t warm leftovers for lunch either. If the room had those things, I would have given 5 stars.
