Jardin D'ébène Boutique Guesthouse

Roland and his team made us feel very well looked after throughout our fabulous week. Roland was courteous and knowledgeable, and the staff were exceptionally polite, capable, and clearly invested in their work. They gave excellent help with our itinerary, always useful and never intrusive. It was a privilege to meet them. The guesthouse itself is a gem. Its tasteful interiors have an African touch, everything was kept to a high standard of cleanliness, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower room well equipped. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The location worked perfectly for sightseeing and getting into the city centre, with safe walks to a varied choice of quality restaurants. We highly recommend it. Staying here made our holiday even better, thank you.

The breakfast was a real treat, with fresh fruit, lattes, and omelets, pancakes, and croissants made to order. There were reasonably priced drinks in the mini fridge too, including still and sparkling water and sodas. We stayed in the Lion Room 🦁 at Jardin D’Ebene Guest House. It was spotless and had both air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The washroom had a curtain instead of a door, which may not suit everyone, and the shower pressure was a little low, though the rainfall and handheld showerheads made it refreshing. At times we could hear some noise, but it wasn’t overwhelming. Christopher welcomed us and marked nearby walks on a map, which was a lovely way to start. We also appreciated having a security guard at the entrance in the evenings. We had a comfortable, pleasant stay and would recommend it to people visiting Cape Town.

The beds were super comfortable, and the bathroom had plenty of hot water and was well stocked with hotel amenities. It was quiet in the neighbourhood at night. The staff were attentive and made us feel at home. Breakfast was tasty, though they only had margarine for toast, so I bought butter and we used that each morning. I’d happily recommend this guest house.

The rooms and the hotel itself were gorgeous, and the place felt small, personal, and very well managed. Breakfast was delicious, too. On my first visit to Cape Town, I couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable and convenient stay. It’s well placed for both hikes and time in the city, and I’d recommend it if you’re after somewhere quiet and personal.
