Labotessa Luxury Boutique Hotel

The whole team made us feel genuinely welcome and looked after, from Brigitte, Claudine, Johan, Martijn and the Three Ts to everyone else on staff. They were warm and professional, gave us excellent recommendations and assistance, and made our time there special. Labotessa is a peaceful little oasis in the middle of Cape Town, with a thoughtful mix of intimate atmosphere, sophistication and heartfelt service. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully prepared, a lovely start to each day. The hotel itself exceeded what we expected. It’s a beautiful boutique property, elegant and stylish right down to the details, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, soft towels and touches that made us feel pampered. We left feeling spoiled and inspired. One of the most memorable hotel stays we’ve had, and highly recommended.

The team at Labotessa made this stay, with service that went well beyond what we’ve had at other hotels. Staff greeted us by name, remembered our coffee order, asked about our day, helped with bookings and recommendations, and seemed to truly care. Brigette brightened every day, Tony was always smiling and welcoming, Martijn made checkout easy, and Johan gave great recommendations and made sure things were right. There were plenty of others whose names I can’t recall. Our room was perfect, the bed was comfortable, the minibar was full of treats, and the amenities felt luxurious. Even the toilet paper had a cute little dog on it. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the food and location were lovely. I also enjoyed the history and personal feel. It’s five-star service, above and beyond. Stay here, you’ll love it!

We were there as a family, my wife, our 9-year-old daughter and me, and the team made the stay special from start to finish. They helped arrange things and packed breakfast boxes for mornings when we were heading out early for hikes. They even put together a cosy cot for our daughter, with a stuffed giraffe named Jabo to keep her company. Those thoughtful touches made us feel really cared for. The food was excellent, and we’d happily recommend the hotel and stay again when we’re back in Cape Town. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with stunning views. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and it was quiet and completely dark at night, perfect for sleeping. Thank you, Bridget, Martijn and the rest of the Labotessa team!

The food menu is small, but everything we tried was fresh, light and delicious, among the best we ate in Cape Town. The concierge took care of reservations and arrangements, and the café and restaurant has a modern bistro feel in a green city garden. Housekeeping was attentive too, as were the staff across the board, who clearly cared about every part of the experience. We stayed in the Presidential Suite over the 2025 year-end period. The 1905 building has been remodelled with great taste, and the modern facilities respect its architectural heritage. It felt like a genuine boutique hotel, with a unique, natural experience shaped by an owner and team who understand hospitality.
