We were about a three-minute walk from the bars and restaurants, but the house itself was not noisy. The colonial-inspired decor had neutral tones and some funky art. Downstairs, the double bedrooms were en suite, and there was also a large family bathroom. We didn't use the twin room, the pool, or the garage. Our big vehicle stayed in the driveway behind the electric gate. The kitchen was huge, and the dining and living room felt very comfortable. Upstairs, the luxurious master bedroom was en suite. The crisp linens, fluffy towels, and lovely toiletries were all there again and much appreciated. The housemaid came daily and was extremely efficient. This would work well for families or couples.

The location couldn't be beat, just two minutes from the beach and restaurants, with a view of Table Mountain up the street. The house itself is great for a big group. But given the price, it really needs a generator. South African load sharing cut the power three times a day: every night from 8-10pm, again in the middle of the night, and during the day. The backup lights had to be rotated for charging, so they weren't much help when we were out all day and they hadn't been charged.

We had the unusual experience of staying in Linda Vista throughout the COVID-19 lockdown. It's a beautiful home with great furnishings and all the practical things you need. The views over the twelve apostles were exceptional, a pleasure to wake up to each day. The WiFi was very fast, which we really needed while working from home. Esta and her team gave second-to-none service, sorting out any problem within a couple of hours.
