Linga Longa Lodge

The party was pretty much over by 9pm. The owner came downstairs, switched on the lights, and told our guests they were laughing and talking too loudly. It was embarrassing, and after two more songs the DJ packed up. We'd booked the whole guesthouse for my husband's 30th, and when we viewed the place, we were told music could go until 11pm, then needed to be quieter because of the neighbours. Since we had the place to ourselves, we thought we could still socialize. We were clear about the kind of party we wanted, and were told it wouldn't be a problem. The day started well, though they wouldn't heat the food we'd brought. We understood, since we'd catered ourselves. At 7:30pm, they asked us to turn the DJ down because it was too loud, and we did. After the party stopped, I asked whether we could sit outside and chat, and was told that was fine. At midnight, the owners called Zone Watch on us. We talked a little longer, then they came back down, turned off the lights, shouted that we should go to bed, and threatened to call the police and lock us up when we spoke up about how they were treating us. I spent a lot of money, and my husband's birthday was ruined. I wouldn't recommend this venue for anyone hoping for a great birthday party. I hope the owners stop misleading people who want to hold parties or events there.

The venue itself is a beautiful building, but the people running it were cold, disrespectful, and inconsiderate. I was there for a friend's 30th birthday this past weekend, and the three owners, two women and a man, treated us like teenagers who were wrecking the place. We were adults celebrating in a safe venue with enough accommodation for everyone. The owners' communication with the hosts was badly muddled. We had to end the party at midnight, with the lights switched off and guests sent to their rooms because the older woman wanted to sleep. The three of them shouted at us and lost their tempers, while we tried to keep calm. It left me feeling traumatized and disrespected, and I'm sure the birthday hosts felt the same. I wouldn't recommend staying here or hiring it for an event. The owners need to learn how to manage a business and treat their customers with respect, since those relationships are the foundation of it.

The rooms were spotless and fresh, and the staff were professional. We got a thorough briefing when we arrived, then had a lovely chance to relax by the pool. The hosts were thoughtful and friendly throughout. What a fabulous stay, I'll definitely be back soon!

Best place to stay in the West, and it could easily pass for a hotel. I don't want to stay anywhere else in Cape Town. Thanks for the great service, Isabelle, and for always making room for our special needs and requests. Best wishes from Cristal and family.
