We stayed in room 5 on a Friday night and really enjoyed it. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and accommodating, and it suited a night out in Cape Town perfectly. You can hear music, or mostly the bass, from Long Street, but we slept really well and it didn't bother us. We booked a spot for our car in the hotel's secured parking lot, and that went smoothly. Breakfast was delicious too: I had French toast and my partner had pancakes. Thanks to the Long Street Boutique Hotel staff for such a warm welcome and great hospitality. They helped whenever we needed it, and I'd definitely stay again on my next night out in Cape Town.
I slept very well. Noise from the local bars and music venues wasn't extreme, and the rooms were well insulated. The hotel was clean, reasonably priced and well located. On my floor, only one room had party guests that night, and once they were inside, things were fine. Access to the lobby is through two locked doors, and there are cameras. It's an older but nicely updated building without an elevator, with some steep stairs to reach the lobby and rooms. I'd stay again and recommend it to friends, as long as I explained the area first. I wouldn't recommend it for children or seniors because of the neighborhood and stairs.
We booked two nights after reading the positive Booking.com reviews, but left after the first because sleep was impossible. A nightclub directly across from the hotel played extremely loud music until early morning, loud enough to make the room vibrate. Laser lights also came through gaps in the curtains and shone into the room. Earplugs didn't help. The hotel later called the location a “lively area,” but this was far beyond what I'd understand by lively. If you can't sleep, that feels like a basic problem with the accommodation, not an inconvenience. In the morning, we were told breakfast would be ready in 10-15 minutes, but it took nearly an hour, adding to the frustration after a sleepless night. Management also referred to a noise waiver, but we never signed one. The signature shown looked like it had been copied and pasted from the Booking.com system. Adding someone's signature to a document without consent is illegal and raises serious concerns. The staff were polite and tried to help, and I feel sorry for them. But if you can't sleep even with earplugs, this isn't suitable accommodation. Read the other negative reviews here. There are more.
I stayed two nights, and it was a deal I'll never regret. Long Street is one of Cape Town's nightlife centers, so there's loud music all around, but I still slept amazingly well in a big, beautiful, clean room. I felt very safe, and the staff were approachable and accommodating. It's centrally located, which made it perfect for exploring downtown Cape Town. I'll definitely come back.
The team made this stay feel personal from the start. Chantel and Tatenda were warm and helpful throughout, and the owners, Romano and Claire, made us feel at home and paid attention to all the details. Chef Chris cooked a fresh breakfast each morning, which was a real highlight. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom stood out with both a luxurious bath and a great shower. Even though the hotel sits amid Cape Town's lively nightlife, the room was peaceful and a good place to relax. A stylish, comfortable stay with real charm. Highly recommended.
