Luxurious Sea Point Apartment

I tried to cancel 35 days before arrival, but they told me the cancellation fee would be 100%. I believe that’s illegal, and I’ve reported them to NCC because I think it goes against sections 17 and 48 of the south African consumer protection act. Believe the negative reviews here. I hate hotels that try to take advantage of people. If NCC takes too long to respond, I trust wendy Knowler to help you.

I booked the Atlantic Affair Boutique hotel for two family members who stayed there in September 2024, and both loved it. They said it felt modern, spacious and safe. Special thanks to Cindy at front desk, who they called an asset to the hotel, and to one of the housekeepers who kept their place clean. The gowns and slippers were a sweet touch. They enjoyed having amenities close by, lots to do and cabs that were readily available and affordable. It was convenient for sightseeing around Cape Town. The beach was beautiful, though the weather was rather cold for a comfortable swim. They had a great time and would gladly return if they’re in Cape Town again. Thank you, N.N.

The actual hotel doesn’t match the website at all. Instead of a lovely view, we looked out at neglected apartment blocks, and the noise around the area was unbearable. I got only two hours of sleep that first night. The air conditioning was broken and leaking water, and the shower was dirty. I asked to move rooms, but guest services were only available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The next morning, I reported everything to a gentleman in scrubs and hoped it would be sorted by evening. Nothing was fixed. The “emergency number” goes to security, who can’t help with these issues. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel, and I’m surprised by its current rating. The photos and videos probably explain it better.

The bed was epic, XXL. The hotel is neat, even with construction going on all around, but don’t stay here expecting peace and quiet.
