Maartens Guesthouse

We felt safe and really well looked after at Maartens Guest House. Maarten went out of his way to help us during the trip, and he’s a wonderful host. The house is bright and spacious, with lovely sea views, and the neighborhood is great. Breakfast was tasty, with fruit and eggs made to order. It felt like a home away from home, and I’d recommend it without hesitation to friends looking for somewhere in Cape Town.

The staff were incredibly friendly and took time to explain Cape Town and the surrounding area, which helped us a lot. The guesthouse is in a safe, quiet part of the city, and they even drove us to our tour meeting point one morning. When we had an early flight and couldn’t have breakfast, they packed generous lunches for us instead. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit salad, bread, and tasty egg dishes made for us. We had an amazing stay at Maarten’s Guesthouse and loved the thoughtful hospitality and attention to detail. We’d love to return!

The rooms are spotless and well equipped, and Maarten’s hospitality and service are great. It’s a great place to stay in Capetown. Make sure to order the delicious breakfast, it’s absolutely worth it.

Maarten made our stay wonderful, and we’ll definitely be back. The guest house is in a lovely part of Capetown, with beautifully furnished, spotless rooms and an excellent breakfast. He welcomes guests personally and has endless useful tips about the area, from the best route to the Cape of good hope to dinner spots and places where it feels safe to walk at night. On our departure morning, he got up early to say goodbye and gave us a lovely breakfast bag for the flight home. Thanks, Maarten, for making our South Africa trip even better.
