The location is great, within walking distance of Canal Walk and close to the highway. I was moved to a two bedroom apartment, but that was about the best part of my stay. This review is for room 217. The rooms were dusty when I arrived, and the towels and bed linen were extremely old and brown. The cutlery, crockery, and utensils were also old and needed a good scrub before they looked or felt usable. The TV remote didn’t work, and the Wi-Fi kept cutting out. Since it’s an Android TV, that made it difficult to use. Netflix was the only service available, and for anything else you need your own login. They give you a Bootlegger breakfast voucher, which wasn’t convenient on a work trip. It meant a 10 minute round trip walk, then waiting for the food, and the kitchen only opens at 7:30. I asked to check out at 12:00, but was told I’d be charged for a full day.

We stayed in apartment 218 Majorca, a two bedroom place, for three nights from 30/12 to 1/01. On arrival, we were first taken to the wrong one bedroom apartment, where the beds hadn’t been made. The condition of 218 was shocking. The furnishings were old and filthy, the bedding was brown and stained, the kitchen utensils were rusty, the stove was dirty, cupboards were broken, tables were chipped, and the showers looked as if they’d never had a deep clean. Curtains were coming off their rails. One bedroom had corridor facing windows that didn’t lock and seemed easy to break into. When we complained, we were told someone could only help the next day. After many calls and messages, Deon came by, apologized, and promised we’d move to a more suitable apartment for our last night. Since the next day was New Year’s Day, we were told he was off and nobody else could assist. I eventually spoke with Yaseen, who said the property was fully booked and we had to stay put. Deon lied to us, and there were no consequences. My family and I have travelled extensively and have never had such poor lodgings or service. The whole experience was shocking and ruined our holiday.

In room C319, the kitchen was so full of cockroaches that we couldn’t prepare food. We reported it, but nobody dealt with it. I’m allergic to cockroaches, and we all became ill with vomiting and runny stomachs. I had to get medical help, especially for myself, instead of enjoying the holiday. The white couches and bed covers were badly stained too. The TV had a problem, the body wash bottle was empty, and we found an empty condom packet in the wardrobe. The beds weren’t properly made. On the first day we got just two old towels, and on the second, only one. There were no bathroom mats, coffee, sugar, or milk, despite the advert. The housekeepers didn’t clean the room at all, and one stole my pen. I’d give the place a zero. The location is good, but the management is more than poor.

The apartment was never swept or mopped while we were out, and every day was a struggle to get fresh towels. There were six of us but only three towels, no bath mats, and the towels left in the apartment smelled filthy and fishy. The front desk manager or assistant, Michael, couldn’t resolve anything when contacted. We were told each day there was an issue with the laundry service. I spent eight nights in the penthouse suite in block C in December. On Thursday 26th, my son realized he’d forgotten something after we’d left, so we returned about an hour later. To his surprise, the cleaning lady was fast asleep in his bed. He took a picture. Does the owner of 414 know how poorly the investment is being managed? Lindsay was there to check us out, and I asked her to look at the bathroom ledges because they were so dirty. Majorca, you may be well situated, but the housekeeping and management were very poor. I was absolutely disappointed and disgusted by the lack of basic cleanliness.
