We stayed at the Mariner over New Year's, on the 30th and 31st of 2025. The view from breakfast on the balcony takes in the whole harbour, and the fireworks along the coastline were a treat, with the Navy Ships lit up for the celebrations. The rooms and the guest house are stunning, and the staff are unbelievably friendly. Unit 2 felt spacious compared with its competitors, and its bathroom has a shower, a bath, and two basins, which worked well for a couple. There are braai facilities, a self-serve bar, and plenty of seating if you want to have people over. My rating would be 4.4 / 5. The two-night minimum cost it 0.5, since it makes a public holiday or short weekend stay difficult. I took off another 0.1 because there are stairs at the entrance and Unit 2's lock was quite stiff, which could be hard for older guests or anyone with a physical disability or deterioration.

Mandy is a real gem, with hospitality that’s hard to beat. We had an excellent stay all around, and the breakfast was delicious. There was good filter coffee in the rooms, too. Thank you all!

Mandy made us feel cared for, like having a mother away from home. This is definitely the most beautiful view on the Peninsula, and the room with a view here in Simonstown was the best.

Mandy welcomed us at reception and was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We loved our stay at the Mariner Guesthouse. Our bottom room could easily fit a bigger family, and breakfast was delicious, with a variety of options.
