MOY Guesthouse & Backpackers - Hostel

This is a backpacker guesthouse on a busy road. The room was clean and the mattress was decent. We struggled to understand the staff's English, and they couldn't suggest anywhere nearby for coffee. Having a kettle and coffee in the room would have been a nice extra.

I’d happily stay at MOY again. The location worked really well without a car: I walked to the V&A Waterfront, and shops, restaurants and beauty salons were close by too. The room was spacious, everything was clean and well kept, and I slept incredibly well in the comfortable bed with its great pillows. The staff were friendly, helpful and knew their stuff. Though there’s a backpacker feel to the place, we didn’t have the disturbances you might usually expect. The small restaurant on site was convenient, and the food and drinks were delicious. Great rooms, staff and location for the price.

Leah was especially kind and helpful, and the service from everyone was fantastic. One of the male staff found my wallet and handed it in, which was so honest of him. The room was huge and better than I expected, with lovely decorative touches throughout. It was spotless, as was the toilet, and rooms were cleaned daily. Soap and body wash were supplied. Even though it's on a main road, I slept well despite being a light sleeper. There’s a nice outdoor sitting area, a place to work upstairs, and a shared kitchen with milk, coffee and tea. I felt safe, with two doors to get through and someone always at reception. Restaurants were nearby, and a large mall was a 20-minute walk away. I’d stay again, and thanks to all the staff for making it such a good visit.

We met some lovely, lively guests during our stay, which gave the place a real home-away-from-home feeling. Lee and Gordon were particularly welcoming, always ready to help, and the rest of the staff were friendly too. The accommodation was very clean and exactly as advertised, which made for a comfortable stay. We visited during the last week of September and had a delightful time. I’d recommend it and can’t wait to come back.
