Muxima Guest House

I really enjoyed the peaceful setting and the beauty around the place, and I’d recommend it to friends and family. During my four-night stay, though, the room wasn’t cleaned for three nights, the towels were changed just once, and I had to buy toilet paper because no extra roll was provided. The linens and sheets also had stains. I only found out too late that there was a restaurant at the back. Even with those small problems, I had a very nice stay and would definitely come back.

It’s a cute place, and the manager was friendly, but the service needs a lot of attention. We wouldn’t return, which is a shame because sorting out these details could make it a great stay. The room wasn’t ready at check-in. Other guests were still emptying the fridge while staff cleaned up the kitchen, and the fridge smelled awful whenever we opened it. The kitchen supplies were mismatched and inadequate for our group of nine: there were only four plates, no knives or tin opener, no serving or mixing bowls, and some pots had no lids. None of the many microwaves worked. We found stains inside the bedding after pulling back the covers, and the pillowcases were brown-stained. The kettle didn’t switch off, so we had to stop it by hand before it boiled over. There was just one towel for two people, nowhere in the bathroom to hang shower items, and no bathroom railings. Housekeeping came in without knocking and then said they wanted to clean. They didn’t top up the toilet paper, so we had to ask for more three days into our stay. While our family was having breakfast, a man, possibly the owner, came into the apartment with two women and said he needed to see something at the back of the house. He didn’t ask or explain. We were staying in the smaller house at the back, not the main one.

It felt like a home away from home. The guest house was beautiful, cozy, and clean, with all the amenities we needed. The kitchen had plenty of cookware, so you can make your own meals. My hubby was happy with the place too, and we’ll definitely return. There’s a poolside spot to sit and unwind, plus a lovely shower, clean bedding, shampoo, and body and hand lotion.
