Neighbourgood Cape Quarter Living

We stayed one night so we wouldn’t have to drive after an event. The apartment worked for four ladies, with two rooms, double/queen beds, and two en suites. The beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed relaxing on the balcony with snacks before the event. We felt safe and sound. The lounge suite could be replaced, and the lighting was dimmer than usual at night, maybe for ambience, but not great for doing makeup 🤭.

The coworking space is absolutely amazing, and the location is great. The staff are lovely too. The bathroom and shower were good, and the apartment was generally fine, though pricey at over $200 per night given the issues. It’s okay for 3-4 people. The air conditioning in the second room is a really bad installation. It pulls in more hot air and makes the room hotter. After switching it off and closing the window, the temperature was totally fine for me as a European, so I’d rather have no AC than that. The fridge also makes loud, disturbing noises. The pool area could use some love, and the laundry room and machine were dirty and messy. There are no digital keys, and we had to ask for a second key. We were two people in a two-bedroom place, but this didn’t seem obvious to them and they gave us a “spare” key. Those are no-gos and simple things to fix. The booking system is mega confusing too, since the confirmation only gives a long number and doesn’t say what room you booked.

The beds were super comfortable, and the location was perfect for what we needed. I’d happily stay here again when I’m in Cape Town and would recommend the place. We could only find one teaspoon, so I guess the previous guests must have taken some. I like a dark bedroom, so it’d be great if the team could add a curtain, even though there are shutters.

I don’t recommend this Hotel at all. A lot of things didn’t work: the AC, the parking tickets, the power sockets, the safe, and the door to the terrace. The parking issue was really annoying because the gate wouldn’t open. The elevator was also a problem for one day. Only the middle one was usable, but every time we called it, either the right or left elevator arrived, which was frustrating. Each room had a separate toilet and shower, but the glass walls were badly designed and gave no privacy. The apartment was badly designed overall, including the doors, bathrooms, and light switches. A catastrophe!
