The Randy Warthog backpacker bar right at the hostel is a solid 10/10, with really good prices and deals. I spent two nights in a six-bed dorm and had a great time. Honestly, I don’t know how the hostel experience could get better. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

I had a great four-night stay at Never@Home Green Point. It’s easy to meet people from all over, whether you’re chatting at reception or spending time in the common areas, and the atmosphere is really relaxed and social. The hostel was clean and well organized, and Luyolo at the front desk was especially helpful, friendly, and always around when needed. I did have an uncomfortable interaction with another staff member whose name I didn’t catch. He was friendly, but a little too touchy for me. More professionalism and attention to his duties would improve things. The access codes, 4747 for the main door and 4848# for the upper floors, are known too widely and don’t change often. That can make it easy for outsiders to get in, particularly at night when staff rotations make it harder to remember who has checked in. Non-guests have used the communal washrooms and left a mess. I strongly recommend changing the access system. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the place for its atmosphere, cleanliness, and staff like Luyolo, but a few changes would make it a five-star experience.

The hostel’s organized tours were a lovely extra, and a good way to see the area and meet other guests. I stayed here in December and January and loved it. The location was walkable and felt safe, with lots of police and safety officers around. I’d happily stay here again and again.

This was our third stay at Never@Home, and it’s still an amazing place. The rooms are cozy, the food is delicious, and the people are great. If you’re thinking of staying here while in Cape Town, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks to the Never@Home team, you guys rock.

The hostel itself is nice, but the bunk beds are awful. They’re the cheapest, worst ones I’ve ever had: temporary freestanding beds that aren’t fixed to a wall, so they shift around and make a lot of noise. There’s no privacy, and the top bunk is super uncomfortable. Even opening the locker quietly is impossible, no matter how hard you try.
