Old Bank Hotel

We liked our stay so much that we booked the last two days of our holiday here after staying at the beginning. The location is very central, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend it.

The room was spotless, with beautiful floors, lots of space, and a huge bathroom. It can get a little noisy because the windows are thin, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

The Old Bank Hotel felt welcoming from the minute we arrived, and we felt so at home that we stayed in for dinner on our last evening and ate at the hotel. The meal was delicious. We also had cocktails at the hotel bar on two nights, with quick, friendly, professional service each time. The hotel's stylish, comfortable atmosphere is lovely, but the exceptionally kind and attentive staff stood out most. Our first visit to Cape Town was wonderful, and we'd absolutely recommend the Old Bank to anyone visiting. We're already looking forward to returning someday.

The air-conditioning wasn't working in either room. After I reported it, staff kept insisting it was fine. The window in our first room wouldn't open, so by the second night they moved us to a room with a working window, but its aircon was broken too. Another guest mentioned the same air-conditioning problem at breakfast. I hope they take steps to fix it. Breakfast service was good, but the food raised concerns for me because I'm pregnant. The scrambled eggs were still runny, and the pork sausage was a little raw inside, both of which could harm the baby. The fruit was awkward to eat, with the orange cut into circles with the peel on instead of easy-to-handle wedges. The watermelon was mushy and overripe, possibly close to spoiled.
