Salama Lodge

I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I was parked in, and the manager wouldn’t wake the person blocking me. The bed seemed to have something in it that made me itch for two days afterward. The room was dark, you could hear everyone in the house, and the whole place felt creepy. Honestly, it seemed more like a homeless shelter than a B&B. Stay away, or spend a little more for better value.

Music carried on through the night, and there was rubbish and old TVs behind the property, where shacks are rented out. The kitchen was especially bad, which is a problem in a self-catering place. The whole lodge was very dirty and messy. Plugs didn’t work, there weren’t even hangers in the cupboards, and reception was just a room. Maybe for a one-night stay, but I wouldn’t choose it for a holiday. Not recommended.

The online photos gave me a very different impression, so I was really disappointed. It’s a house rented out to other people, more like a commune than a proper place for paying guests. My room was reasonably clean, but there was noise and no secure parking. I’d add a few bucks and book somewhere decent. I’d give it zero stars if that were an option.

The location is very quiet, and the rooms are nice. I’ve stayed here twice without any problems, and the service has been excellent.
