Sandown Lodge

That gated parking was a real plus for us, since we'd driven from Durban and wanted somewhere secure for the car. We came back to Sandown Lodge twice in February and March, and both stays were in the luxurious Self-Catering Suite. The bathroom was a standout, roomy and relaxing, especially with the bath. The room suited us perfectly, and although we didn't cook, it had the cutlery, crockery, glassware, and other basics we'd have needed. Vanessa and her husband made us feel very welcome, and the housekeepers were lovely too. We also adored the two sweet dogs. Shops, a garage, and restaurants were nearby, with more options within a short drive and Uber Eats available. We'd happily recommend it and stay again when we're in Cape Town.

The Wi-Fi in the rooms was excellent, so an Android box connected to the TV could make streaming things like Netflix easy. It sounds like a cheap, useful addition. I also really enjoyed taking smoke breaks outside beneath that enormous tree. Had a great stay.

The rooms were clean, and having a TV was nice for winding down at night. Parking was behind an electric gate, and they gave us a spare remote so we could come and go. The staff greeted us warmly, and there were two lovely miniature Schnauzers. Michaels restaurant is a short walk one way, though I think it closes at 4pm, so check first. There's a supermarket in the other direction.

We had a really enjoyable stay in this lovely, comfortable place. Vanessa, the owner, was kind and very helpful, and there was also a gorgeous, friendly little cat named Biscuit. Thanks, Vanessa! ❤
