Jenny and Patience made us feel welcome and looked after us so warmly. The room was clean and organized, and they served a wonderful breakfast and checked that we were happy with it. I highly recommend them.

The shower fell onto a 6-year-old child’s head. Instead of apologizing and acting right away, they blamed it on someone having touched it. It was an awful response, with no accountability. The toilet flush didn’t work either, and the room had barely been cleaned. The place is dirty, neglected, and badly maintained, yet they charge as if it were luxury accommodation. It’s overpriced and unsafe. The staff were shockingly rude, with eye-rolling, nasty tones, and sarcastic, high-pitched voices. They acted like helping guests was a favour. There was no professionalism or manners. We paid serious money for filth, danger, and staff attitudes that have no place in hospitality. This place is an embarrassment. Don’t book here. Take your money somewhere else and you’ll get better value. Avoid it like the plague.

The building maintenance was shocking, and at night there were cockroaches running around the rooms. We ended up not wanting to eat breakfast. We tried to put up with it, but the advertised pool wasn’t there. I consider false advertising an offense, and as someone who manages properties for owners in the same industry, I know some clients can be unnecessarily difficult. That wasn’t me here. I have a right to be unhappy. We weren’t given the wifi password on arrival, had to ask, and then they entered it for us, despite the free wifi being advertised. Jenny was trying to help, but the other lady was unfriendly and rude. At 5 o’clock this morning an Uber driver kept ringing the bell because guests were trying to leave, but no one was around. Everyone in the lodge woke up. I think I deserve some money back, please. I’m willing to take this further. No reply from the owner.

The wife was turned off, even though we’d been told it stays on 24/7. Once we complained, it was turned back on straight away. We were told we could park in the gated area, so we did. But Rizwan didn’t mention that someone would bang on our room doors at 6 am asking us to move the car so tenants could get to work. If Rizwan had told his tenants to park neatly, the problem could’ve been avoided. The shower head also fell onto my brother in law's child's head while he was showering. When we complained, Rizwan claimed the child must have touched it, even though the child is barely 3 feet tall and couldn’t reach it alone. I wouldn’t recommend this lodge. We could’ve paid the same price somewhere else and had much better accommodation.

Jenny and Ruth made me feel at home and went the extra mile to make my stay comfortable. The room was clean, and the staff were very helpful. Whenever I come to Cape Town, I’ll always stay at Savoy. May the Almighty bless Jenny and Ruth with everything good.
