Southern Sun Cape Sun

We had a great stay in the spacious family room, with lovely views over the city and Table Mountain. The buffet breakfast was awesome, and the service and customer care were great. It’s right in the city centre, and I’d especially recommend it for families travelling with kids. Entertainment could be better. There was no Netflix, and the DStv selection was pretty basic. The fitness area is small too, with basic equipment and no treadmills.

Breakfast was really good, and the hotel is close enough to walk to the waterfront. There’s also a complimentary shuttle each hour in both directions. The rooms were okay, but housekeeping was terrible: twice they forgot to leave us any towels. The swimming pool is really just a bath. There’s a fairly large underground car park, though it costs 65 zar per night. Nobody seemed to check payment, and you can come and go without cards or tickets. For me, this is a three-star hotel.

I loved the dinner buffet, especially the lamb curry. Dumiso was such a friendly staff member and gave us the best service. I’d definitely come back.

I only attended an event, so I can’t comment on or rate the rooms. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the place was clean with great attention to detail.
