Sweet Waters Cottage

The hosts go out of their way to make guests feel at home, and the service felt trustworthy. The place is central, in a safe area, and really cost effective. My favorite part was the mirror in the shared bathroom. Thank you!

I flew from Italy to SA with my husband and our one-year-old. We were staying at my parents' place, 10 minutes from Pinelands, and had booked sweet waters cottage. We landed before noon, then Bev messaged that afternoon asking us to check in between 4 and 5 p.m. After such a long trip, a delayed check-in already seemed odd. We got there around 5 and only then learned the cottage had been double-booked. The alternative room was still under construction and very dirty. I declined it because we'd specifically asked for the cottage to suit our family's needs. After 24 hours of travel, we were left without accommodation on the day we arrived. The host hadn't told us sooner, so we had no chance to make other arrangements. I still had to take a cab there, which added to my costs. This was an unreliable service, with poor communication. The only thing she communicated about was the extra R1200 we had to pay at check-in, a dodgy charge, while saying nothing about the double booking. I'm beyond upset about how inconvenient and stressful this was, especially with a baby after such a long journey.

My mother enjoyed the place, but the extra charge for my one-night stay caught me by surprise and spoiled the experience. I won't return.
