Swiss Cottage

The location in Camps Bay is excellent, just a 2 min walk from the beach and shops, and all the rooms are lovely with comfy beds. I’ve stayed at the self-catering Swiss Cottage many times over the years, and every visit has been wonderful. Chris the manager is hands-on and welcoming, and always makes sure the finishing touches are right. Darwin keeps everything spotless with very efficient cleaning, while Dr Smith the owner is closely involved in making sure the business is run as well as it can be. I have nothing to fault and will keep coming back whenever I need to stay in Camps Bay.

Chris, the manager, was so welcoming and attentive to the details. We had a fantastic Easter stay at Swiss Cottage in Camps Bay, with the beach and shops only a 2-minute walk away.

We’ve stayed at Swiss Cottage many times before because the location is superb, very close to Camps Bay beach and the lovely restaurant The Codfather. The rooms are quirky but well equipped, and Chris the manager was extremely helpful.

The attic room above the office is spacious and has what you need, with a bit of ocean visible over the rooftops. There’s a small double bed and the floor slopes slightly, so overall it was reasonable. Getting up there means climbing a short but steep flight of stairs. The bathroom is the biggest drawback: at 5'9 I had to duck to get in and again to enter the shower, and my knees touched the wall when I sat on the toilet. It’s a very cramped space. The ceiling fan is ridiculously noisy, though there are other fans available. The place is opposite a primary school, so kids run around and make noise during school time. On the plus side, shops, the beach, and Camps Bay’s restaurant strip are all very close.
