Cape Standard Guest House

The garden and lovely veranda were a great place to rest after climbing Table Mountain. On hot days, it would also be nice to have breakfast outside. The rooms, I think all of them, had AC, and there were heaters for colder weather too. Paddington waited for our late arrival and offered us another room since not all rooms were booked. We chose the upgrade, and every room he showed us was beautiful and felt like home. Breakfast was perfect, with special requests possible, plus a lovely omelet and fresh rooibos tea. The owner was also very kind and happy to give advice about Cape Town, including tips to other travelers on how to behave in town. Thanks for the great service and kindness.

We spent three nights at The Cape Standard Guest House, and the staff made it feel welcoming with how friendly and helpful they were. The outside seating area is very chilly, and the pool was clean and lovely in the summer weather. Thanks for making our trip so nice.

Paddington gave excellent service, thank you! The hotel was nice and clean, and our room was huge. It’s on a quiet, safe street. I’d definitely recommend staying here over some of the bigger hotels we’ve tried in the area, since the service and quality were so much better.

We loved the location, the setting, and the relaxed feel. Margo was a wonderful host, sharing great places to visit, arranging our reservations, and showing such passion for South Africa. Paddington deserves a mention too for his warm hospitality and positive attitude.
