The room and bed were comfortable, and the hotel’s central location made shopping, the tourist center, and the port easy to reach. Breakfast was quite good, though there wasn’t much variety from one day to the next, so it could get boring over a longer stay. There was just one other drawback: a slight smell in the bathroom, apparently from poor sealing around the drain.

Right on the waterfront, the location was fantastic. The rooms were large, well equipped, and had a lovely bathroom. There was a good selection of food and drinks, especially at breakfast, and the staff were very friendly with excellent service.

We’ve just checked out after a little over three weeks at the Commodore, and it made our time in Cape Town memorable. After that long, it genuinely felt like home. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, our room was comfortable and well maintained, the beds were excellent, and the modern bathrooms were clean. The location beside the V&A Waterfront was ideal, with shops, restaurants, boat trips, and easy strolls close by. It worked well both as a base for exploring farther afield and for relaxed days nearby. Breakfast was fresh and consistently good, with plenty of choice every morning. The staff really made the stay. Everyone was warm and professional, and attentive without being over the top. Kwezi was a constant help and always a pleasure to talk to, Elisabeth’s kindness stood out, and the doorman, whose child had a birthday this past weekend, always greeted us with a smile. The whole team was excellent. Three weeks is a real test for a hotel, and the Commodore passed with flying colours. We left refreshed and grateful, and we’re certain we’ll be back. Highly recommended for Cape Town.

For a 4 star hotel, it deserves 5+. Great value for the service, location, professionalism, and cleanliness. This was my first visit, and I’d highly recommend staying here to enjoy the spacious rooms and outdoor seating beside the pool. The hospitality and customer service were exceptional, and they made sure I was satisfied. Thanks a million for making my last two days in South Africa memorable. Enjoy, and I recommend it. NK
