The shower smelled like a drain, and it was very noisy. There’s no air conditioning, while the wind is too strong to leave the windows open. It kept slamming the front door. Reception was poor. The person there sat with music buds in their ears and left me standing around while I waited for someone to check me in. There was zero hospitality. They had no system for looking up the booking by name and surname, so they wrote my name on paper and still couldn’t confirm it. Check-in was confusing and communication was bad.
The receptionist gave me a warm welcome, and I really liked the room. I stayed for three days and enjoyed it. Hope to visit again soon 🥳
The view was nice and the beds were soft, but nearly everything else was awful. During our stay, the property had no running water for over 24 hours. There was also very loud techno from nearby and across the block, starting around 8pm Wednesday through Sunday and going until about midnight, or later on weekends. Heavy construction noise was another problem, though that should only be temporary.
The place has been without water for almost four days, and the property managers haven’t bothered to share any information. There wasn’t even a notice. When I asked staff, I got an attitude and kept being told, “it will be fixed today.” Construction next door is horrendously loud all day, and the bars downstairs make noise at night. It’s massively overpriced. This is one of the worst places I’ve stayed anywhere in the world.
After a long flight, I arrived to find the room still being cleaned and not ready. The receptionist wasn’t very nice. The room itself was nice and clean, with modest decor, but I wasn’t keen on the ceiling fan and would have preferred air conditioning. I was on the second floor and could hear and smell the restaurant downstairs, so leaving the windows open was difficult. It was summer in cape town, and with only a ceiling fan, I needed those windows open.
