The self-catering cottage we were given was dark and damp, with a large cracked wall covered in cobwebs. The sheets were yellowed and stained, and the shower was blocked. We booked Oak & Vine Luxury Guesthouse at the end of December 2019, expecting the advertised 4-star accommodation, and were appalled. The manager, Harvey, seemed uninterested, unhelpful, and unapologetic, and refused to refund us. There was nothing 4-star about it. Beware!

Hilda, the manager, made us feel so welcome when I stayed here with my family in December. She was especially accommodating with the kids. I'd recommend this guest house to anyone wanting to experience South African Ubuntu at its best. Give that woman a bells!

The staff who helped us were such an asset to this guest house. I can't imagine finding gentler, more helpful people anywhere else, and I hope their superiors recognize their outstanding service. It's a beautiful place with lovely surroundings, too.

I really enjoyed the quiet during my four nights at the guesthouse and cottage, and breakfast was lovely. The staff and management were very friendly. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Breakfast was a treat, and otherwise everything was good. I had a colleague stay here for the night, though he did mention that the steep staircase could be difficult for some.
