Peninsula All-Suite Hotel by Dream Resorts

Staff were good, the property was cleaned well, and the breakfast buffet was decent. There was parking with enough spaces, plus a shuttle to popular spots. We loved that the kids could use the heated second pool. The main pool sits beside the main restaurant, so it doesn't feel very private, and we didn't use it. From our room, the ocean view was great. The king bed was comfortable, the single beds were okay, but the main sofa had worn out padding. The TVs were small and old, though the channel selection was decent.

The pool area was a highlight, and the burgers served there were excellent. We had a unit on the 8th floor with a jacuzzi deck, and the view from the room was hard to beat. The main bedroom was large and really comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved every minute of our stay.

The central location sounds good, but the area around the hotel felt dirty, and most places were a long walk or Uber ride away. Parking costs extra, yet it's first come, first served, so you might have to park on the street in an area that didn't feel safe or easy. Check-in took over 40 minutes, and our rooms weren't ready on time. Some doors needed to be forced shut or locked, and staff didn't always check them carefully, so we came back after lunch to find our door open. Service was hit or miss: some staff were helpful and friendly, while others were rude or seemed uninterested. The rooms were spacious, and the water views were nice, but old, sticky appliances and daytime noise made it hard to relax. Sound carried through the poorly insulated hall, with kids yelling and bass-heavy music from the bar downstairs, which stopped around 10 or 11 pm. The TVs only had local channels, and the odd remote setup meant using one could turn on the other TV too. This doesn't meet the four-star standard I've seen elsewhere. I'd look somewhere else.
