Thirty on Grace

On a business trip, I didn't expect to feel so at home, but this charming villa gave me a very warm welcome. It's in one of Cape Town's best quiet residential areas, and I found the place really comfortable. The hospitality was excellent.

The breakfasts were a treat each morning, and Ros's warm welcome helped start every day well. Our family of four each had a separate room, all beautifully designed with detail at a very high international standard. Ros looked after us wonderfully throughout. Our time at Thirty on Grace was far better than we'd expected. It felt like an outstanding home away from home, with lovely atmosphere, service, rooms and facilities on a par with top guest houses internationally. We plan to return and highly recommend it to discerning travellers. Thanks, Ros, for a wonderful holiday for me and my family.

This was our third stay in five years, which says a lot about Ros's consistently friendly hospitality. We came to Cape Town for a family reunion and had four separate rooms, making it a great place for the group. The neighbourhood felt safe and secure, and Ros let us use her lounge as a meeting spot with family and friends. Next time we visit this remarkable city, we won't need to look elsewhere.

We only had one night at this lovely Claremont oasis, and I wish we could've stayed longer. It's conveniently located, about a 20-minute drive from the airport. The open-plan entrance and lounge feel welcoming, and the rooms are clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Our upper-floor room had spectacular views, plus a secure little courtyard where we left the door open to listen to the rain. After six dry months in Johannesburg, that was lovely. The bed was firm and very comfortable, with high thread-count sheets. Ros was cheerful and efficient as a host. Breakfast was delicious, and even came with a surprise blueberry smoothie, so our antioxidant levels should be in good shape! I'd recommend Thirty on Grace for either business or a holiday.
