Tudor Hotel

I spent a month here in total in the fall of 2015, first from September 15th to 25th, then from October 15th to November 4th. It was a very nice hotel, with the feel of a long history but few signs of age, and the lobby and rooms were carefully maintained. The elevator door was heavy, and if I remember right, it opened and closed by hand rather than automatically. Maybe that was another hotel, but even a manual door was fun. I'm not good at English, but the staff spoke slowly enough for us to communicate, and I appreciated their hospitality. Breakfast was delicious. Cape Town hotel breakfasts often have little or no vegetables, though they may have fruit. Tudor Hotel served vegetables too, which I appreciated. Clean rooms and good quality food at a low price. I recommend it.

The oldest hotel in Cape Town, with a bar and comfortable beds. The staff were fabulous, and the rooms clean. The upper floors are quieter. It's budget accommodation with breakfast included, and the location is central. They also provide a free travel buddy with a city guide, internet, and local calls.

The place looks better in the photos and could use an upgrade. Staff were super friendly, and the gorgeous wooden floors give it a vintage feel. There’s no parking, and the automatic passage lights made it feel really scary. It's not a bad place, but I won't be going back anytime soon.

The guest had paid in full ahead of time but was charged again because they hadn't checked the proof of payment that had been sent. When a complaint was raised, staff were stroppy and handled the dissatisfied guest badly, especially when they were in the wrong. The roof leaked, and the accommodation was dated. Very poor.
