My colleagues' stay was profoundly disappointing. The rooms were unhygienic and the property looked nothing like the descriptions and photos online. Finding moldy bread in a cupboard added to our concerns about cleanliness and upkeep. When they raised the problems, staff offered no adequate help. I have photos documenting what they found, but despite repeated attempts to resolve the matter, we were told a refund wasn't an option. That lack of accountability left us feeling dismissed and made an already frustrating experience worse. Guests deserve a clean, comfortable place. I hope the establishment takes steps to address these issues so others don't have the same experience. I plan to post a review on the website to let people know what we encountered.

We booked Victoria Guest Lodge for two staff members in October 2024 and paid in full beforehand, but the conditions were so concerning that they couldn't stay. The rooms were unhygienic and poorly maintained, with worn furniture and broken items that raised safety concerns. There was a rusty, non-working fridge balanced on a makeshift wooden box, and the electrical distribution board had no cover. Lighting was broken, ceiling cornices were torn with gaps exposed, and there were spider webs. Walls had cracks and holes as well as visible dirt, and there was dirt on the floors. Moldy bread in the kitchen cupboards was another sign of poor hygiene. The bedding was old and dirty, with no towels. The TV remote was held together with old medical plasters, cigarette butts were scattered around the property, and parking was a challenge. Staff and management did not act professionally or meet the hospitality standard we expected. We showed staff our concerns and sent video and photos to management and the owners, but got no resolution or refund. What guests encounter is drastically different from what is advertised online. Our experience at Victoria Guest Lodge was highly unsatisfactory, and we recommend that potential guests consider other lodging in the area.

It's an okay place, but not worth the nightly price. We needed somewhere urgently and stayed two days while searching for another place. There was no remote for the main gate, so reception had to let us in and out every time, regardless of the hour. Parking was awkward, with a long driveway where cars block each other in. The room had no dressing table or mirror. The cleaning lady was unprofessional and acted as if we were in her way. While we were there, she even climbed onto our bed and rolled from side to side to make it. Small cockroaches had infested the rooms. When we told reception, we were told the owner had been informed and there was nothing more they could do.

I couldn't stay after seeing the place, even though I'd paid in advance, and they wouldn't refund me. The photos and information used to advertise it were highly misleading. It was filthy and unhygienic, with broken, worn, dilapidated furniture and extremely poor, unprofessional service. The whole experience fell well below hospitality standards, and they took no accountability for the conditions or service. Absolutely horrible, the worst I've experienced. I won't book there again and do not recommend it.
