Free WiFi was handy, and the area felt peaceful and safe. I really appreciated having the pool to cool off in Cape Town’s strong sun. The manager was friendly, knew the place well, and gave me a warm welcome with great service. Breakfast each morning was delicious. I’d gladly recommend Villa Garda for a memorable Cape Town stay.

Villa Garda worked really well for our touring team. There were enough bedrooms, beds, and bathrooms, plus shared spaces like the dining room and pool area where we could spend time together. The rooms were nicely equipped and the beds comfortable, though the water pressure is a bit low in the cottage’s top two rooms. We were in town for a sports tournament at UCT. The fields were only a five-minute drive away, or around a 10-15 minute walk. Elias was very accommodating and arranged a packed breakfast for us to eat at the fields.

I’ve stayed at Villa Garda for more than ten years, and what keeps bringing me back is the feeling of friendship and family. The owners, their children, and the whole staff make VG feel like home. You also meet an interesting mix of people from around the world. I’ve tried plenty of other places in Cape Town, but the corporate style of “hospitality” can lose the spirit of South Africa. If you want to be pampered by privilege, those places may suit you. I come here to feel welcome and valued. Some reviews seem to fuss over small things or criticize what the owners can’t really control. Stay here and you may find yourself part of a new family, both with the people who live and work here and with fellow guests.

My flight from Port Elizabeth was delayed by five hours, and I didn’t land in Cape Town until 01:00, long after Villa Garda’s office had closed. The manager waited up for me, welcomed me kindly, and still took time to show me around and explain things, even though I arrived well past check-in. The B&B looked just like its photos and was comfortable. In the morning, two lovely women served me an English breakfast, just what I needed after a stressful night. It’s affordable, friendly, and comfortable, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

We loved it here. It felt like home, and the central location made it easy to get around and close to everything. The owners were so helpful and accommodating that even after checking out in the morning, we could stay until midday for online meetings, have their coffee, and use the amenities. I’d definitely recommend the place.
