The rooms and interiors felt clean and comfortable, with an old-fashioned charm. Kleinkaap has Cape Dutch architecture and beautifully kept gardens, giving it a peaceful, country-like feel despite being in the city. We especially loved the meals, made with quality ingredients. Breakfast included fresh produce, farm-style butter, and delicious home-baked bread. It's a distinctive, relaxing place with lovely surroundings and plenty of character.

The breakfast was already laid out, with plenty of coffee and other drinks, and our large group found the staff friendly, professional, and accommodating. There were indoor and outdoor places to sit around the terraced area by the hotel. It has big trees, water features, vintage cars on display, and ducks and a swan wandering around. You pass through a beautiful bar on the way to the restaurant. The grounds and hotel are stunning, and it seems like a lovely spot for all kinds of events. The venue felt safe, and they scanned our car licenses again as we left. Getting there was easy, with a clearly marked entrance and a boom gate where they checked my driver's license and scanned my car license. There's plenty of parking in sun or shade beside the Kanaan garden, where fresh produce is grown. The parking is on dirt, so weather and footwear are worth considering. I wish I'd known that beforehand. I wasn't sure where to go at first, but a friendly security guard pointed me the right way. Our end-of-year celebratory breakfast with my coworkers at Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel was a privilege. What a stunning venue.

We keep coming back, and I'd happily recommend this place. The staff were exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful, and Waiter Sakkie even insisted on helping with the wheelchair on the way out. It's great that there's a wheelchair-friendly ramp into the restaurant. The breakfast spread was huge and delicious, with options for different dietary needs, and coffee and tea kept coming. The spacious hall works well for fine dining and functions. I also liked the historical black-and-white photo wall and the vintage van out back.

The breakfast buffet was abundant and delicious, and Prince went above and beyond with the service. The grounds are lovely, with lush gardens and little tree- and vine-covered spots that could be nice for a romantic dinner. Rooms are spacious and the beds cosy, with a coffee station and bar fridge. Nigel gave great service at the restaurant. My fillet steak was cooked perfectly, but the pepper sauce was too salty. The T-bone was also perfectly cooked but very salty, and the butternut soup and paprika chicken were too salty as well. It was just too much. We woke to no water in the rooms, though they apologized and said there was a water problem. Maintenance should fix the shower taps. The workstation table could be balanced with a wine cork instead of folded paper. The stay was good overall.

The menu had a lot of choice, and the atmosphere was relaxing. My wife and I had lunch here and got to see some of the vintage cars on the property, too. We started with snails, which were very appetizing. She had the prawn and chorizo chowder, a bit spicy, while I had pork belly that was well worth the price. For dessert, I'd suggest the apple and almond cake, tasty with coffee or tea.
