The place was okay, but the room needs a proper deep clean. The living area smelled damp, the curtains need washing, and the rooms should be aired out. There was dirt and mildew built up by the shower door, and I don’t think the bathroom had been cleaned before we arrived. Domestos should take care of it easily. A proper kitchenette would help too. A little more attention to cleaning could bring in more guests.

We enjoyed our stay, and the guest house was neat and clean. A dishwashing sink would be useful, though. The washing line is small, and the gate at the back that leads to it gets locked, so there should be a key available.

I was highly upset by how different the setup was from what I expected. We had booked and paid for a two sleeper and a six sleeper for a two day family getaway before Christmas, then arrived to find a communal property with one shared lounge and four other rooms open. There were only two bar fridges for everyone. There’s no kitchen, sink, or stove, so you’re forced to braai. Even making scrambled eggs over a fire takes a long time. The car guard said there was one braai stand and that we had to pay him to get the grid. I called the manager because I wasn’t happy, and she brought us a small braai stand to put outside the lounge. The listing said “self catering” but didn’t say the place was communal, which I found misleading.
