Boskloof Swemgat

The cottage had everything we needed, and it was a charming Airbnb for a peaceful, romantic break. We could sit outside and barbecue in the evenings, then drive just two minutes to see the stars with no light pollution. Really lovely.

The quiet was my favourite part, and I can't wait to come back. My brother brought his young kids, who had a great time splashing in the shallow stream. The braai setup was excellent too. There was plenty to do, including for the teenagers, and Gretha suggested the beautiful drive over Pakhuys pass to a nearby restaurant. Highly recommended.

We first came from 4-8 October and returned for another stay from 21-23 November. On the first trip we stayed in Fivas, then chose Kliphuis, where we all enjoyed the wood-fired hot tub while braaiing on the stoep. The inner tubes made floating down the river fun, and Gretha was a wonderful hostess both times. We're already looking forward to visiting again. It's such a peaceful place to unwind and get back to nature. The cottages are well equipped and cared for, and Gretha gives guests a warm welcome. We fell asleep to the river and woke to birdsong. Definitely a place I'd recommend.

The surroundings are beautiful, and the clear river was lovely for a dip. There's lush lawn beside it that makes the grounds feel welcoming, and the braai was great. Our accommodation was clean, comfortable and fairly spacious.
