Spacious and clean. Just be aware, the hot tub is heated with a donkey fire system, not electricity.

We had paid in advance through booking.com and received confirmation for our stay at the Grey Plow. Then, three days before we were due to arrive, they told us they’d double-booked the room and cancelled our reservation. We were left without another place to stay in Clarens. Be careful before booking with them.

The house is cosy and has lovely flooring, and the location is good for walking into town. A few things need attention: hardly any water came from the en suite basin, the curtains weren’t great, and the patio sliding door was extremely stiff. We struggled to open and close it.

A lovely little find in Clarens, with everything we needed for a great weekend away and then some. It’s a wonderful place to share with family or friends. Highly recommend!

We only found out at the last minute that our accommodation had been double-booked. A very disappointing experience.
