The owner was friendly, but the staircase is very steep and awkward with suitcases. There’s very little room in the fridge. It was windy most of the time, making a braai a challenge, and the river view was limited. It didn’t give us a holiday feeling.

Right on the river, this place felt like a perfect piece of heaven. The owners have thought of everything. Angelique was lovely when she checked us in, the beds were comfortable and the living area was amazing. There’s even an indoor pool beside a well-equipped indoor braai area, and the kitchen has everything anyone could need. Thank you, guys! As Arnold Swartzenegger put it, “I will be back.”

Everything was provided, so our stay was easy and convenient. The guest house was clean and well equipped. The bathroom has a glass ceiling and a lovely big bath.

We’d been on a road trip around the Eastern Cape and stayed in several self-catering guest houses. Sundays River Mouth Guest House was overpriced for what the facilities offered and didn’t meet our expectations.

It felt comfortable and homely, and Addo Elephant Park is conveniently close. There’s also a lovely Spar just up the road for shopping.
