We had an awesome time, even though a few things could be better. The place has loads of rooms and great facilities for cooking and braais, so it works well for groups. It could use a refresh, and some guests weren't very comfortable with the dog being around. There's a lot of potential here.

The friendly, polite service and the horses and dogs made our stay really enjoyable. Cheval Tachete was clean and tidy, and for what we needed it was just right for the price. We'll definitely use you again next time we're in the area.

The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful, but don't expect a luxury venue. It feels like a farm with extra rooms for rent and dogs roaming around. Staff walked in and out of the Braai area in a rude way, so there was no privacy. From our room we looked out at a white farm bakkie and heard a noisy lawnmower, while the grass hadn't been cut in a while. The man also had rude phone manners. Although it's self-catering, nobody told us to bring our own cutlery.

The bathroom was the only part that looked like the advertisement. Our room was dark and stuffy, with no fan or air-conditioning, and we had no hot water. I was also disappointed by the corrugated steel sheets used to fence in the rooms. For the price, it wasn't good value, especially with just two towels and no hand towels or spares.

We found this a good spot for a one-night stop, especially if you're visiting cullinan Town. The room was private and spacious, the bathroom was huge, and the hosts were very friendly. The price was good too. A warning for anyone driving a low car: the curb at the entrance is very high and could cause damage. It would help to have somewhere to hang and store clothes, plus a toilet brush in the bathroom.
