The farm has great fly fishing, plus fields and hills to wander around, and places to run if that’s your thing. Forest Dawn lodge was good value for us: the 14-sleeper house has seven bedrooms and daily service, for just R400 per person per night. It isn’t five-star luxury, but it’s comfortable, with clean sheets and towels, and has what you need for a weekend break.

This was our third visit, and each time has been even better. The accommodation is clean and neat, the facilities are excellent and the staff are friendly. There are well-stocked dams for fishing, and they’re easy to get to. Thanks again, see you soon.
