We booked a few clients in and loved the place. The staff were always on point and willing to help. Buhle made sure we were well looked after, and breakfast was amazing. Futhi from housekeeping is such a lovely lady, and the rooms were so clean. The furniture is old and worn, though, and the place needs a revamp and some new linen. We had a great stay overall, thanks to the staff at st.james.

Breakfast was delicious, and the staff made us feel welcome. The rooms and bedding were clean and comfortable, and there’s a lovely outdoor area. We’d definitely recommend staying here in Durban. It was well worth the visit.

I barely slept on the second night because the people next door were fighting until morning. On top of that, I found a toenail in the bed, and saw the chef licking her fingers while making food. It wasn’t a pleasant stay, and I personally won’t be coming back.

The location is good, with easy access to restaurants, highways, and pretty much anywhere around Durban. I stayed here about 5 years ago and liked it then. The rooms have gone downhill since and could use some TLC, though they’re still okay overall.
