The calm surroundings and the way everyone, including housekeeping, makes you feel at home stood out to me. Communication was great, so I never felt like just a visitor. The rooms are pleasant and accommodating, with nearly everything you need, and it’s clear a lot of effort has gone into the place. I’d recommend it for work or a personal trip around Emalahleni, and I’d stay here again myself.

The geysers are set to lukewarm, which is a letdown when all you want after a day in the mine is a hot shower. Ricoffy was the only coffee available. The food was good, the rooms were decent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I couldn’t feel safe in room 1, which was booked for one night. It connects to reception, and I couldn’t lock the door from inside. When I raised it, I was told nothing could be done. I was there for work and barely slept, so I wedged the side table against the door just to hear if anyone tried to come in. The bathroom window wouldn’t shut, and the shower door was practically falling off. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Book at your own risk.

The people handling check-in were very sweet, but the room was freezing. The wall heater barely helped, and they couldn’t give me another heater when I asked. There was no water for brushing my teeth or washing my face, so I had to go to Macdonalds. The rooms really need stronger heaters.

I called to get a quote for a week for two separate rooms, but the woman said she had no time for my questions and dismissed me. After that phone service, I’ll take my business elsewhere.
