Jasmine scented the whole property, which was a real highlight for me, though I assume it may be seasonal. The garden was beautiful and picturesque, and our large room was quiet, with lovely layout and decor. We didn’t have long in Franschhoek, but Leeu House made us wish we’d stayed longer. The staff were welcoming and kind at every turn. We had a quiet dinner in the hotel on our first night, and Jason, our server throughout the stay, did a fantastic job making sure the meal was excellent. The food was quite good, and better than most options we looked at on the lovely Main Street. The hotel is at the end of the strip, so it’s quiet, but everything along the main road is walkable. There’s at least one other Leeu property nearby, perhaps two, and we’d consider trying them next time. Still, after such a wonderful stay, it would be hard not to return to Leeu House.

Marius, Honest, and Bradley deserve a special mention. They kept going above and beyond and made the place feel truly special. From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel at home, and the service from all the staff was fantastic. It’s an amazing hotel right in the heart of Franschhoek. We’ll certainly be back!

The staff were professional, friendly, and always ready to help us have a relaxing stay. The rooms are very well appointed, and the house, gardens, and pool are kept in immaculate condition. Pure class, and I can’t recommend it enough.

The garden and pool are peaceful, beautifully maintained places to spend an afternoon, and the staff there were brilliant. We liked having cocktails at the front of the hotel in the evening, a pleasant spot to relax and watch the town go by. Leeu House is right in the heart of Franschhoek, with a wonderfully decorated property and a small, attentive team that made us feel cared for. Our room was spacious and well presented. The bed was comfortable but on the firm side, which may not suit everyone. Breakfast was lovely, especially the French toast. We didn’t have dinner there, so can’t comment on that, though breakfast suggests the food is good. Be ready for a few mosquitoes, even on cooler days. We visited in October. My wife also highly recommends the Spa, about a 10-minute drive away. She said it was one of the best massages she’s ever had. A beautiful boutique hotel and a great base for exploring the Cape Winelands.

We had such a good stay at Leeu House. The staff were wonderful and friendly, and breakfast was delicious. Many restaurants are within walking distance. The complimentary wine tasting at their wine cellar, about a five-minute drive away, is definitely worth doing. We couldn’t have asked for a better visit.
