The food was unbelievable, high quality, and there was more than enough. After we talked about Yorkshire, we were served Yorkshire pudding with supper the next evening. Such thoughtful attention. The countryside had a great farm feel, with animals all around, and the dirt roads nearby weren’t too bad. We had a wonderful week away, and the hosts made us feel at home and part of the family.
A fantastic place with lovely mountain scenery, and a bit of culture and history too.
Penny went out of her way to take care of everything our group needed. The eight of us were cycling and had a wonderful stay, with comfortable accommodation, a delicious buffet dinner, and a scrumptious full English breakfast. Such a lovely location and delightful surroundings. Highly recommend.
After a hot day of cycling, the pool was a welcome relief, and Penny even made sure we had rooms with aircon. We only needed one night on our self-supported bicycle tour, and she was happy to help. She also asked for ideas for our vegan meal, then blew us away with a phenomenal menu that was much more than another veg curry. Penny, your hospitality and kindness didn’t go unnoticed. Highly recommend Homestead as a base for exploring the area.
A fantastic guest house, quiet and comfortable, with an old-school games room and hearty homestyle food. Exploring the Drakensburg was never so comfortable. I loved having the dogs around; they helped me miss my fur babies a little less. Pennie and her team were amazing!
